For those students wishing to attend institutes of higher learning in Las Vegas after graduating from high school - or for those who have already been in the work force and would like to upgrade their skills and income - Las Vegas offers several educational options. Since there are a number of hotels in Las Vegas, hospitality degrees are available in several of the schools to students who wish to have careers in hotel administration.

University of Nevada at Las Vegas
This school currently serves more than 28,000 students and has 3,000 faculty and staff members on its 340 acre campus. Average class size is 30 students. The largest lecture hall seats approximately 200.
UNLV offers 220 degree programs on the undergraduate, graduate , professional and doctoral levels. Financial aid is available to students who qualify as is aid in the form of loans, grants, work study, etc.
Fall and Spring semesters are approximately 16 weeks long and there are three Summer sessions held from May through August.
Nevada State College
This school first opened its doors to 177 students and 8 full time teachers on September 3, 2002 and represents the first four year state college in Nevada. It has a 510 acre main campus which is located in Henderson.
Nevada State College has a wide variety of four year undergraduate degree programs in the Schools of Education, Liberal Arts and Sciences, Nursing and Applied Science Programs. The university graduated its first class of 13 students on May 14, 2004. Tuition is only $83 per credit.
Community College of Southern Nevada
This two year community college was founded in 1971 and is Nevada's largest institution of higher learning. The school is also the fourth largest community college of its kind in the United States with fifty locations including three main campuses and twelve learning centers in four counties.

University of Phoenix
The goal of this university is to make higher education possible and provide working professionals with the opportunity to experience real classroom learning. The University of Phoenix has five learning centers in Las Vegas as follows: Henderson, Las Vegas, Nellis Air Force Base, Northwest Las Vegas, Southwest Las Vegas.
